What do snacks, gold, and smartphones in the UAE have in common?
There's a vending machine for all of that.
For those who are always on the move, vending machines can be a real life-saver for a quick drink or a snack, especially when there's a long line at the nearest shop.
In the UAE, you can not only purchase water and food at a self-service machine, but beauty products and gold bars as well if you're feeling a little glam.
SIM cards can also be purchased at Etisalat machines. What if you want a new phone to go with that new number? There's now a machine for that, too!
Another Abu Dubai first, Etisalat launches the first-of-its-kind smartphone vending machine in the UAE, in partnership with Adnoc.
It can be located at the Adnoc service station on the Corniche, Abu Dhabi.
Accessible 24 hours a day through the week, and the transaction takes no more than 5 minutes.
How to use the self-service machine
You can pay with either cash or card for a wide selection of Android and iOS devices and phone accessories. The product and receipt can be taken from the machine at the end of the purchase.
Here's how you can get your new smartphone through one of the new vending machines.
- Insert your Emirates ID card into the slot when prompted by the machine
- Confirm your personal information on the screen
- Enter or change your mobile number
- Select the product you want
- Choose your payment method
