Dubai Tram Traffic Fines for Dubai Motorists

Traffic fines for Dubai Tram

Motorists brave enough to cross paths with the Dubai tram are now facing hefty fines and driving bans if they're caught violating these driving offences.

Anyone who jumps a red light will now face losing their driving licence for three months, and will also have to pay a fine of AED 5,000.

Reckless drivers that cause a traffic accident with fatal consequences will have to pay up to AED 30,000 as well as having their license suspended for up to three years.

An announcement made by HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, issued a resolution outlining all of the new penalties implemented.

The resolution is an effort to ensure the tram system is governed securely, and to enhance the safety standards of the tram system overall.

To help make sure you're clued up with all traffic fines related to Dubai's Tram, here's the list. Safe driving!

Jumping a red light at the tramway intersection without causing a traffic accident

You'll receive a minimum fine of AED 2,000 and a maximum fine of AED 5,000 and suspension of your driver's licence for a period of between 30 days and three months.

Jumping a red light at the tramway intersection and causing a non-fatal traffic accident

A minimum fine of AED 3,000 and a maximum fine of AED 6,000, and suspension of your driver's licence for a period of between 30 days and six months.

Jumping the red light at a tramway intersection and causing a fatal traffic accident

You'll face a minimum fine of AED 15,000 and a maximum fine of AED 30,000. As well as the suspension of your driver's licence for a period between one to three years.

Owners, contractors or operators who do not follow safety procedures

Contractors working in an area where the Dubai tram is laid face a fine of anything between AED 100,000 and AED 500,000 if they don't follow safety and security requirements.

In addition to a fine, the RTA may suspend works of a contractor or operator until the violation is cleared.

Pedestrians crossing from undesignated areas along the tramway

Any individual found crossing the tramway at an undesignated area and risking the safety of themselves and those riding the Dubai tram face a fine of AED 1000.
