Good news motorists - petrol prices are set to reduce for the month of July.
The UAE's Ministry of Energy announced that consumers will now pay only AED 1.86 a litre for Unleaded Gasoline 98 (Super), which is down 5.1% from June's price of AED 1.96. Unleaded Gasoline 95 (Special) will now cost AED 1.75, reduced from AED 1.85 in June and Gasoline E Plus 91 will now be priced at only AED 1.68, which is 10 fils cheaper than the month of June.
For you diesel lovers, expect to pay only AED 1.84 per litre now, which is a decrease of 3.16% from the month of June.
Why do petrol prices fluctuate in the UAE?
Since August 2015, prices of fuel in the UAE have been deregulated, and so do alter on a month-by-month basis. The decision was originally made as the new pricing policy linked to global prices, and was aimed at supporting the national economy, lowering fuel consumption, protecting the environment and preserving national resources.
