Take them to see Rango. It's really good. My 3 year old ds sat there and didn't move the whole movie. They'll love it! Watch out for Jake the Rattlesnake! Or take a picnic to safa park with their scooters? In hate weekends without my dh. :(

Freckles, I could have written this post. Except, DH isn't AT work, he's sleeping after a night shift. So the pressure is on, trying to keep the hyperactive children quiet while I get dressed upstairs. Halfway there. By now I'm not sure I could be bothered going out! Was just going to take them to Toys r Us for a run around and then lunch and back home. Not very exciting at all. you have actually got dressed????? You are someone i can only aspire to be!!!! thanks for all the suggestions ladies. I have looked at the petting zoo and posh paws but I think I will leave that until next weekend when Mr F is with us and can do the driving, Not sure my back can cope with it today. I actually think a play in the toy shop might be the answer today and then I can secretly look for Freckles junior's bday present. Spot of lunch and then home for some voltaren rub!

http://www.sharjahtourism.ae/en/heritage/museums/arabias-wildlife-centre Younger visitors will enjoy walking around the Children’s Farm (+97165311127), which is located next door to the Wildlife Centre. Children can pet and feed their favourite domesticated animals, and ride ponies and camels at the weekend. (access to all Sharjah Desert Park venues) Adult Dhs 15, Children (12 – 16 years) Dhs 5, Children (under 12) Free My 7 and 2 year old loved it! Go on the Dubai By Pass Rd (611) Take the Al Dhaid exit.... you'll come on to a 2 lane highway as if heading towards Fujeirah. Keep driving straight until you see the signs for Sharjsh Memorial, childrens Farm, Wildlife Centre and Natural Museum. Really easy to get too. Have fun.

Pretty basic fun but mine would spend hours chalk painting on damp concrete back home-assuming you have concrete-would keep them out of mischief till the sun heats up

There's also Posh Paws which is supposed to be good. I think it's free to get in, but donations are appreciated. http://www.poshpawsdubai.com/AnimalSanctuary.aspx Yeah this is good too took mine there last week and they loved it. Take some snacks and cold drinks with you. Think there are cafe ceramique vouchers in the entertainer book...... edited by Clairehdp on 12/03/2011

How about going to the park? Zabeel is really nice. Relax on a blanket while the kids play? well that was my first thought but the kids have had two days in the sun (3 hours at the beach yesterday) and I think they might get a bit crispy if we go out again
