OK
My Nokia smartphone has a cracked screen to the extent that the screen is completely black, with faint streaks of background light.
Is there a way to fix it.
I havnt backed up my contacts, photos, videos etc.
Is there anyway I can get them back?

I feel abandoned without my contacts list!

plug it into your pc and see if you can sync it (nokia suite?) Tried it - doesnt work. actually i dont remember what the left or right keys stand for! ughhh!!! Is there someplace I can take it to? or if someone can actually help me. Try plugging it in again and then go to Computer from the start up menu; the phone may show up as a device/drive and maybe to can access the info that way.

I didn't lose any data....it was just a screen replacement....but mine was an iphone not a nokia....phone and ask them....they will be able to tell you whether you will lose data or not.. the other thing to be careful of in Deira is that there are a lot of phone places and not all of them use genuine parts....this one does. I wish I'd asked on here about repairing iphone screens! We left an iphone in at the Ranches computer shop to be replaced and it took nearly a month and cost 350dh. Thanks for the contact Avalon Mum

One more thing: when you take your phone to repair they usually flash the phone and you loose all your data...

I used to have Nokia phone but not smart phone. With Nokia PC suite usually when you plug the phone into the computer there will be a list of options popping up to choose from (PC suite, mass storage, media, etc). Previously it would be the PC suite that is automatically selected so you would just press the select button which is usually the left selection key. I had several Nokia phones and they were all the same in this. Or if you have a central selection button that should work too. Give it a try, maybe it works with either of these buttons. If you get connected you will see it on PC suite.

In Diagon Alley (aka a backstreet in Deira) but call them first and see if they can fix your problem, then get directions and phone them when you get to Deira and get more specific directions. I parked in a parking area opp Naif police station and it is a 3 min walk from there.
