Saw the 'closed' signs on Al Sufouh (3 a.m. to 1 p.m.) but didn't notice any on Al Wasl, only ones advertising the event. Good luck to everyone taking part.

are you going for a time or just to complete? It's my first marathon, but have done quite a few half marathons. Did a proper marathon training, so feeling well prepared. Hope to finish in something around 4h to 4h15. In the end I'll probably be glad to just complete it.

I've seen the signs on Jumeirah Beach Road that it would be closed, but didn't check Al Wasl Rd. It only got me thinking when I read it in the handbook today. Did anyone see signs on Al Wasl Rd that it would be closed too?

Good luck! My family will be down the road cheering you on with supplies of all sorts, hope it all goes well for all the runners. We will have all sorts of stuff including vaseline and mini mars bars and fruit etc. Happy running.

I picked up my racepack today and in the rules and regulations handbook it says 'Do not attempt to access the race from the Jumeirah Beach road,Al Sufouh Rd or Al Wasl Rd direction as the roads will be closed from 3am on the morning of the race.'

Does anyone know if Al Wasl Road is closed on Friday , 21 January, for the Dubai Marathon? I need to know as I am running it and need my family to supply me with my goodies along the way. Your help is much appreciated.
