The only way to get good bread is to make your own and, really, I'm not preaching. Would love to be able to do this but am now gluten intolerant so it's a 'no no'. Mind you I do succumb a couple of times a year and suffer for it but there's nothing like a bacon sandwich in home made bread - after, of course, you've cut the crusty ends off and slathered them in full fat butter while the bread is still warm!

Hi JC! Was in Lulu's the other day and was told they get the Kingsmill in every Thursday. They also have the Kingsmill crumpets and english toasting muffins!! YUM!! Park & Shop do pretty decent bread too - they call it "Hovis" - not the same Hovis as back home but pretty dam good non the less! They do wholemeal, granary, seeded, Best of Both.......really nice and its about AED 9 - 12 depending on which one you get. :)

Dont know what days they get it in, its been there the last few tims I've been but not been for a while. They keep it opposite where the bread counter/baskets are in a fridge at the end of one of the aisles. I use the spinneys sandwich loaf too though and do find it the best one for the price in Dubai....and it doesn't turn to powdery cardboard when toasted!!

Spinneys now do a really really good white sandwich loaf that they bake on the premises. it's the best ever bread for a bacon butty. they call it sandwich loaf.
