The Alliance Francaise in Oud Metha (across from the American Hospital) offers Arabic classes. So does the Sheikh Mohammed Center for Cultural Understanding in Bastakia. Additionally, there is currently an offer on cobone.com for 24 hours of arabic classes at the Quba Training Center in JLT for only 270 AED.

Oh I should add, the link I posted is probably a little advanced if you have no familiarity with Arabic whatsoever. It does show that there are videos that can help though.

I doubt there'd be much in the way of free classes. I'm sure you could check youtube for some basic lessons. I did a quick search and found this. I watched the first minute, seems fairly good: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yAXVCAmfrdE

Hi people, Can anyone recommend/suggest some good institutes that offer arabic courses for free or at very minimal charges ? Most of the courses that I have come across are very expensive. Also, can u suggest institutes around Oud Metha/ Karama/ Burdubai ? Thanks, N
