The average is 30 calender days excl. public holidays. Been in 3 jobs here and always had 30 calender days leave.

50 working days plus public holidays. You might want to just save them up because if your lose your job it is a nice little bonus to help soften the blow :) If it is quoted as calendar days then weekends are included and public holidays during the period you were off. <em>edited by AvalonMum on 28/01/2011</em>

i heard from one of our HR reps, you can cash in up to 30 days worth? Believe me the break is worth more to your sanity than the money. haha... but what if you get somewhere like 65 days a year? surely cashing in half is just as good? How naive am I?

the labour law allows for 30 days - it does not specifiy calendar or working - its ambiguous/open to interpretation. as the DIFC does not fall under the MOL - the law does not apply. hope that helps <em>edited by rhubarb on 27/01/2011</em>

If you have not taken all your leave one year is there a law which says how many days you can carry over, or if you can be paid for any holiday you have not taken. Or is it just down to your individual companies discretion. i think it's individual. my company encourages you to carry over.

From Chapter 4 Section 2 of the UAE Labor Law: Article 74 Each worker shall be entitled to leave with full pay on the following occasions: 1. New Year's Day (Higra): one day. 2. New Year's Day (Gregorian): one day. 3. Lesser Bairam: two days. 4. Greater Bairam and Eve: three days. 5. Birthday of Prophet Mohammed: one day. 6. Al Isra and Al Mi’raj: one day; 7. National Day: one day. Article 75 A worker shall, for each year of service, be entitled to an annual leave of not less than: 1. Two days a month, where the worker’s period of service is more than six months but less than one year. 2. 30 days a year, where the worker’s period of service is more than one year. <em>edited by CSM on 27/01/2011</em>

DH gets 42 but if he takes a week off the the weekend is counted too. Its the same if he takes a thursday off....they take the Friday and Sat (if he is not rotad to work it).

DH gets 30 working days. In theory he should be able to add any weekends worked to his annual leave tally so he will add another five days but not the rest of it (he works, on average, 1.5 weekend days a month).

ha and good luck when actually trying to get any time off! I have SO much holiday piling up as taking holidays is frowned upon and actively discouraged. nice. i nearly always travel around the public holidays to avoid the aggro.

Not 30 as a minimum. Minimum is 22 I think and as your position gets better and more advanced you get more days. No - it's 30 days per month which equates to 22 working days.... the 30 days includes weekends.
