Thank you for the suggestons. The China Club in Radisson Blu Deira (used to be Intercon) used to do this dessert very well. But the last time I went they used raw bananas - it felt like they just wanted to charge us for the dish whether or not it was edible! Another suggestion I got was Chop Suey in Jumeirah. Havent tried that yet

I haven't been there for a while but the Peacock at the Sheraton in JBR is good. A little pricey but they serve banana fritters with honey sauce and ice cream.
