I bought a Wurzel bread at Spinneys yesterday. When I took my first bite it tasted all rotten and disgusting. Only then I remembered a friend telling me recently that the same happened to her. She bought a bagel for her son (at Motor Citys Spinneys however). After she had fed him half already she took a bite to find out it was all rotten. Did anyone have the same experience?

I bought Wurzel the day before you Jessjan - and it was lovely.....The wurzel they use at least some wholemeal flour, which goes rancid very easily, maybe it was that? I have had trouble with Meat and fish from spinney....I now only buy on the day we are going to eat it (such a pain)....and I have gone off getting fish unfortunately

I always thought spinnys in MC really clean until a few weeks back I got a pack of eggs, they were last of that type in fridge and underneath the wire fridge shelf was all old broken egg slime and green mould ! It wasn't touching my box of eggs but still the fridges should be clean, yuk! Also my DH bought an expensive t- bone steak and underneath was green ! He didn't realise until he was putting it on BBQ ! Even that all said it's still more hygenic in spinnys than carrefour, and le marche/geant those places permanently stink and feel grubby.

Not with bread but I've bought mushrooms that were starting to rot. Spinney's is just downstairs from my place to I was able to take them straight back and change them. Would have been a pain if I'd lived further away or not discovered it till the next day.
