I have had my Chevrolet Trailblazer valeted at Crystal Shine. I was a little nervous as I had read this thread before taking the car there. I mentioned that I had seen a bad write-up and the manage...
That was very expensive considering that there are much better options, I know this car service centre , Grand service station car wash based in Dubai, they have 3-4 different branches and are in the market since 1984, much reliable and not that expensive at all. Do try them out http://gsstations.ae/

I know this is an old thread, and the question seems to have been asked but not answered yet. I also want my carpets shampooed - don't care about the rest of the car for the moment. Anyone found a good carpet shampooer? Not necessarily full detailer or leather cleaner. We've had a couple of accidents and I want to get onto them asap

@Bluskies, I usually use teh Zaino System from online to do my MINI. Claybar and the whole bit. I really like their products. Here I have a employer paid rental, and not as much concerned with the condition of the car ;) I am though looking for a good inside scrubbing. i.e. shampooing since my family is coming to visit me and I'd like to get the chihuahua foot prints out the back seat, and the spilled energy drink smell out of my trunk... I was thinking of goign to the Khalidiya mall's Auto spa in AUH, but don't want to spend the time in that place if I don't have to. Would rather come home to Dubai and get it done locally. (I work in AUH, near the airport) Anyone in particular who is good with the cloth interior sort?

Well I can definitely not do the valeting myself particularly as its getting hot. Glad I found this thread but I have to say that I called Crystal Shine and found them really expensive, they quoted me 1,100 Dhs for the full jobbie on my Pajero which I felt was simply outrageous. I think he must have liked you Jockneys ;)

I went to crystal shine after reading your post, The Jockneys, and I must say they lived upto their promise. I ended up spending more than you bc my Prado was filthy after a camping trip. DH is very particular about our cars and he was very happy with the service. may i ask what you had done? i spent a good 7hrs over the weekend detailing the OH Kia Rio (wash (with vacuum), clay detail, polish and wax). i want to do my Sorento but it will take a heck of a lot longer than 7hrs...the effect is truely stunning.

I have had my Chevrolet Trailblazer valeted at Crystal Shine. I was a little nervous as I had read this thread before taking the car there. I mentioned that I had seen a bad write-up and the manager instantly quoted 'the expat women blog' and suggested the negative comment was from a competitor. Anyway I promised him that if they did a good job I would post a comment here to try and counter the bad press. They did a great job of my 4 year old car - I would go as far as saying that apart from a couple of small bits of wear and tear the car looks as good as new. The service was as polite and efficient as you could get. My only suggestion would be that they publish their price list as I negotiated a lot off their starting price - which made me feel that some could get a bad deal. I paid AED550 which whilst seems expensive compared to the UK, I think is competitive for Dubai. OOOoo my kind of thread (reformed girlracer alert) depends on what you have done in your "detailing" in the UK. thats cheap if you include a clay bar treatment, polish and wax plus interior detailing....can go up to GBP300. i asked yellow hat if they would sell me a clay bar as i like doing my own car care, but its a niche thing here (he explained) so obviously they want to keep it special!! that could have been a fob off as i am not sure how many girl types they get requesting this stuff. i forgot to get one in the uk when i was home at christmas so now looking for someone on the internet to ship me a kit. if its done properly and they get the swirls out, it looks brand new. I get a great sense of satisfaction doing it myself.....but if that 550 included claying, polishing and waxing, i would be there in a flash! edited by Blueskies on 26/01/2011
