Hi Everyone I bought a large rug for my living room (the long pile/ chenile type rugs) and the man in the shop said it was very easy to clean. When we went back to ask him the best way to clean it, he says take it to the dry cleaners in Mirdif shopping centre! Has anyone else taken their rugs to the cleaners here? If so, what cleaners would u recommend? If not, i think i will try a bucket of soapy water and a scrubbing brush! Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks everyone

I think hiring a machine even if you don't need if for a whole day would still be cheaper than sending to be cleaned. I looked a while back and thought it was quite pricey so didn't bother. Tried a DIY job and it just looks worse than ever. But maybe it isn't that expensive to get them cleaned and I was just looking in the wrong place. I didn't look very hard. I might get a machine from Ace - didn't know you could hire one, I've got masses of rugs that could all do with a spruce up and although I'm against cleaning carpets (once you start you just have to keep on doing them) they get so grubby here I think I might cave!

You can rent a carpet cleaner machine from ACE hardware. Costs dhs170 for a day. Works a treat and very easy!
