Planning ahead to the summer and started looking into options for my kitty, We're going to need something for 3-4 weeks. Has anyone used the services of people advertising on dubizzle as a pet sitter? Crossed my mind about how I would be able to trust them. Don't have a pure breed cat but he's most definately my baby and I would commit harry carry if anything happened to him. We were thinking of boarding him at Vet Centre at Polo Club Arabian Ranches. (Love the Vet there). Just thinking of options if anyone has ideas or recommendations?

Does your Pet Sitter work in the Springs area as well? I just can't find anyone in Springs!! I hate to bring my dog to a kennel. she gets so scared... Saby3 I am not so sure but I think she can come as she asked me if I want my dogs to stay at my home or at hers, I just dropped them to her home.

yes, good idea. this is what I'm doing now but my maid does not have a car and in case of emergency she would not be able to take the dog or cat to the vet.. that's why I'm trying to find somebody with a car..

If anybody pays for or employs a legal maid - I have always used them to look after my pets while I'm away. I pay the same rate as if they were doing the regular cleaning but instead, she comes in for 30 minutes each day, feeds and waters them, cleans the litter box etc. An option if you have it available to you.

I found my pet sitter on dubizzle. I can say that I am very happy with the care she provides and of course the price. Last summer I had to be away from my dogs for 67 days but I wasn't so worried b/c I saw my loves on skype whenever I wanted.

Oh Thanks Pharoahmanda! Actually Homely Petz price is excellent comparing to other cattery prices.. Most of the cats are very territorial and they dont really like to go out of their house so pet sitting would be the best option for them. I just had a look on dubizzle and saw many ads for pet sitting. I wouldnt trust any of these people at all. Actually I remember seeing once here on this forum (if I remember well) someone offering dog sitting and the service includes walking dogs on the beach! Well I dont have dogs but I know very well that dogs are not allowed on the beaches in UAE.. So using certified and licensed pet sitters is very important, at least you can spend your vacation not worried about how your pet is doing.. What if I recruited one of these unlicensed pet sitters who are looking for some overtime money and I called them when I am away to check how my cats are doing and they didnt answer.. What I will do then? and how will I know that they are not using my house for partying :D Also I have seen some teenagers who do pet sitting, but you have to take your pets to their house, anywaaaaay this is also not acceptable.. what if the cat falls sick, had diarrhea or whatever problem.. will they notice? how will they know how to deal with the situation! I prefer to use licensed pet sitters and spend my vacation with peace of mind.

Sound advice, always best to use licenced companies and steer clear off the over populated chat forums (present company excluded of course) who advertise. Little correction though: Homely Petz only charge AED75 for one cat one visit a day, 2 cats is AED100, twice a day for either is AED150 ;o) Good luck in whatever you decide.

I wouldnt trust these people who advertise on dubizzle and how would you know that they know how to take care of your cat? For cat sitters, I can recommend Homely Petz, I've heard good things about them. They charge 100dhs per day if it is one visit and 150 for 2 visits. They are certified pet sitters with a LICENSE to do the pet sitting in UAE. Energetic Panacea on Al Wasl road also do pet sitting but I am not sure how much they charge, they also have a small cattery, I love the ladies who work there and I so much trust them. Also most of the clinics have catteries so you can start visiting them, check the best prices, and best SPACE. Of course Urban Tails Pet Resort is the most beautiful pet resort I have seen in Dubai, they charge 80 Dhs per day and the ladies there are so nice and real animal lovers. Also there is Chruchwoods in Al Barsha, the cat will have a good space to walk and also (depends on availability) with an outdoor enclosure, I think they charge 80dhs per day too. At the end, it depends how much you would spend and who you can trust and if you want to let your cat at home or take her to a cattery.
