Their price is 1,660 AED if i can find an equally good place for less i would appreciate any advice some of you have regarding this and the places which might perform it? Although i cant bare to think of this at the moment i know it has to be done... so trying to prepare from early on... Thanks in advance!

Could you please comment on healing process? How long it took and was it easy? I've just called the clinic and realized they are using still traditional circumcision method, not plastibell which is very common nowadays and considered the easier way both for kids and their parents... Still confused whether to go for it at Fathi Emara clinic or proceed at Dubai Hospital which as they say will cost us around 5000AED

European Belhoul Hospital does it. Its a small but very clean and professional hospital. They have very affordable packages. I would give my highest recommendation as both my sons had their procedure done there by Dr.Wasfi Jaouni. Hes an Egyptian surgeon and president of the emirates pediatric surgeon society. You have to go for a consultation with him to get a quote for the hospital and his services. Tel:2950660. I have recommended him on previous threads too. edited by Appletiser on 02/05/2012 Hi Appletiser, I know this is an old thread. Could you tell me how old your sons were and what the after care was like. I heard that it's not very good i.e. inadequate pain relief. How long did they take to recover? Their aftercare was great. Nurses were very helpful and there was plenty of pain relief. He was up and playing about 4 hours after the operation. The first 2 hours he looked a bit drowsy from the anesthesia but he never really had bad pain just uncomfortableness. Doctor also gave antibiotic ointment to put on to make double sure nothing goes wrong. Thanks. And how old was he? 13 months old both of them when they had the procedure done.

Just had 3 week old DS circumcised this morning at American Hospital with Dr Peter Stroburg. Obviously it's still way too early to tell the outcome. DH was with DS through the procedure and said Dr Stroberg was very good, very steady hand, and it was quick. DS cried loads afterwards though - broke my heart into a million pieces. I fed him til he fell asleep and when he woke for his next feed he started crying again, and my boy is not a cryer at all! Poor thing. No pain relief or ointment was given, but I am giving DS Adol every 4-6 hours and will get some ointment as older DS had it and it makes sense to me. The cost of the procedure was AED2200. HTH!

My unborn baby son is not someone i want to imagine wearing condoms as yet... lol but like i said it is really religious reasons mainly thank you for accepting that all cultures and religions vary afterall, we live in Dubai which is a Muslim country.... I find that most people who live here have an open mind and realize that their beliefs arent the only ones...

Oh wow, it is a personal decision... benefits- lower rate of HPV, lower risk of penile cancer (rarest form of male cancer) and when I was in high school girls espoused the benefits of a clean cut... non benefits- much higher rate of HIV, pain, problems with breastfeeding, less penile sensation during ***..... Interesting.. without this thread I never would have thought to read about it... well, on EW you learn something new everyday :)

Ti know that there are multiple studies that men without circumcision have a higher rate of catching and spreading STD'S than men who have the circumcision done.... ! Not if they wear a condom!

My reason is mostly religious being muslim although i am born and raised as an American and i am only 25 i know that there are multiple studies that men without circumcision have a higher rate of catching and spreading STD'S than men who have the circumcision done.... i know i cried when my baby girl had vaccinations done so i dont know how i will feel about him going through the pain.... [each to their own I agree, and I was talking about "routine" circumcision not when there are pre-existing heath issues. My post was only in response to your link OTDXB, not to the OPs post.

I think for many people, apart from the religion aspect, they do it for health reasons: http://www.circinfo.com/benefits/bmc.html oh best not to start that debate, its fairly widely accepted by most major health bodies that there is no good reason for routine circumcision from a health perspective. Religious reasons are a different kettle of fish. Not that the OP was asking for opinions, just info on prices and locations. Yep! was wondering the same. My husband had to be circumcised due to health reasons...each to their own

only querying the use of the OP's 'has to be done'. I have no problem with a person choosing to do it, but if the OP says she can't bare for it to be done - the reality it does not 'have to be done'. If it's for religious reasons, then yes, it "has to be done". I don't think the OP cares if you have a problem with it.

we had a few miscommunications within the family when my son was born and we left city without him getting circumcised and went back a week later and they said once you're discharged, the price is then 2500! anyway, i called every hosp in dubai and sharjah and the cheapest was zulekha in sharjah, they would do it for 600 or 700, can't remember exactly. this was a yr Ago, so i would call again just to make sure. edited by na115 on 02/05/2012

How about Latifa? Can't see circumcision listed on their rates but I'm sure that they can perform it.

So you had to go outside of Dubai basically to get it done at a reasonable price? Hmmm thank you for your reply, any other people find a place closer to dubai? Maybe sharjah?
