hi cornish pixie... yeah i know... but what i'm ideally looking for is something not very very old (like max 10 years) or one that's been maintained well enough... not really looking for the shiny new feel... fingers and toes crossed... LO has just got an admission at Horizon and any villa in and around that area would be like icing on the cake... any idea who to contact for the lincoln villas?

yeahh i checked Sidra and Al Manara... but they're all so expensive... i want a 3bedroom compound villa for 120K - 125K (max) and the only ones that fit that are the Arenco villas in Al Badaa (behind Ghazal mall) and those are sooooooooo old! :( I think your budget is a long way off what you'll have to pay in almost all of Um Suq and Jumeirah, sadly the lower the price the less likely it is to be renovated. Along Beach Road are a couple of older compounds, Lincoln Villas, or something like that - I heard they are recently renovated and not too expensive.

I'm sorry, I don't know that. We pay 250k for a 4 bed in the same street (not al Manara though...I've just noticed them driving past as they look nice!!)

Try Property Shop (Lorraine) or Twinett for Sidra Village. There are two vacant in Al Manara as they have boards up but I can't remember the name of the agent. There doesn't seem to be the same exclusivity here for estate agents, so if you tell an agent you want to live such and such a place then they seem to be able to get the property for you even if they didn't advertise it in the first place. I'll get the name / number of the agents for Al Manara on my way home tonight thanks....we stay in manara and need to move in a couple of weeks

We live in a lovel compound in Jumeirah 2 - sadly I can't offer it to you as a suggestion as it is only available to employees of DH's company. Having said that we have also lived on the Ranches and whilst it is lovely there I can safely say that I am 100% happier in Jumeirah. We have Safa Park on our doorstep, the beach is in walking distance, there are a wide variety of shops/supermarkets/cafes etc. I really feel like I live IN Dubai now - and we are making so much more of our life here. Jumeirah wins hands down!

There are lots and lots of small compounds in Jumeriah / Umm suqem - take a drive around the small rounds and you will see them.

Sidra Village and Al Manarah Villas are on Street 22, Um Suqiem 2. Sidra has a huge pool but not sure about the other one. Both 5 mins walk to the beach

Aside from Splendour Villas, the 88 villas/Sh. Ahmed villas, are there any other compounds that would offer a community feel in the Jumeirah area? Trying to decide between this area and the Emirates Living/Arabian Ranches communities...TIA!
