I wonder what method DED uses, whatever, it does work apparently :) I daresay the threat of not getting a trade licence renewed (DED are the ones who do this) is a rather convincing argument :) Glad you hit it sorted!

yup, we opened a case too a few months ago and the retailer in question suddenly got really quite helpful when we told them.

We used them last year too against a car rental company, things got resolved very quickly... We were amazed at their efficiency..

I had asked the question a few days ago if anyone had actually used the Comsumer rights Gov dept here. It was deleted for whatever reason. I want to let you know that it does work :). They handled my case quickly and efficiently and without Drama, at least not on my side, have no idea about the other. Anyway, the store will be giving me a refund on Sunday or Monday. If they don't, Consumer Protection will reopen the case and get it for me!!!! So, when you see the sign on the shop desk that asks if you know your rights and you need to call...please call if you have a dispute. It really does work.
