There is no yellow fever in South Africa HOWEVER if you are travelling via a transit flight (which i take it your flying with emirates- so your not) from a coutry that has you are required to produce the certificate. Have you got your original emirates vaccine card? If so as long as it is stamped on the appropriate page it will be accepted. The vaccines which i advise you should have travelling to South Africa would be MMR, Hep A and tetanus. Also depending on where abouts you are planning to visit whilst in the country you may need to consider malaria phrophylaxsis.

But you may need to produce it for travel to places such as Australia AFTER you have visited Africa. So best to dig through your drawers and cupboards to find it anyway.

Nope. DH has never been asked for one in the 10 years he's been going down there.
