Personally I would not want to live at AR and not drive. However, taxis are readily available at all times if you book them in advance - they are generally a little early! At busy times you can wait some length if you call for the "next avaialble" - better to book, even if it's for only 30 mins ahead. Most drivers will know how to get to AR, though some are not familiar once inside, but you would kust need to direct them.

Hi there i frequently use taxis, the company number i call is: 042080808(the red roof taxis), they usually park around Le Marche car park and wait for a message to pick someone up. It takes on avarage 5-7minutes for them to turn up. Although round 3-4 pm there is a longer wait due to rush hour. Most of the drivers know Arabian Ranches areas, there are signs anyway, pointing out where the compunds are located eg saheel,al mahra,terranova,al reems,mirador, palmeras etc. To book taxi over the phone they charge 3 dhs extra( there will be 6 dhs on the meter) but when you take one trom taxi, rank,haul one off the road,etc there is 3 dhs.

At 6.45am there are usually loads of taxis waiting here and most of the day there is a long line of them near the shopping centre. I don't use them much myself, but I think from booking one they will be there very quickly. Of course taxis will bring you back here - we are not in the middle of the empty quarter you know!! How well they know the Ranches is just the same as how well they know the rest of Dubai, but all the villages have security gates and the guys there will give directions.

how easy is it to get taxis living in arabian ranches - all areas. ie 6.45am of a morning - 10.30am - midnight - 7.30pm for example. and how long from booking an immediate taxi do they actually take to get to you. also will taxis bring you back and do they know arabian ranches areas. thanks everyone who can help.
