hope they work out ok! Maids left at 11 - A/C men turn up to sort out one of the units, and there's now black grit all over the place! What's the point!

Offer her a cup of tea and get her to sit down for 10 minutes mid way - she'll probably have to wait for the minibus to come and get her at the end, whichever agency you use, so you'll still get your 4 hours worth of ironing lol. When I had the one maid for 6 hours I'd make her a cuppa and she'd have a sit down - I've cleaned the villa how she does it a few times and don't know how she keeps going - my back was a gonna within 2 hours! She'd fall asleep at the kitchen table afterwards too, waiting for the bus to take her to he next job.

Do you think its too much to ask someone to iron for 4 hours??? I did it last week toom me 5 hours but that was including having breaks and wandering around moaning about it Lol

I've had the same maid for a couple of years to clean through them - and she does it properly and really well, she uses her initiative too now. Another girl comes at the same time to iron for 2 hours, then helps her clean for the rest of the time. They're 30AED per hour and I've been happy with their service apart from a minor blip with a new-to-Dubai-needs-more-training maid. That's the average cost for agency maids I believe. You supply the cleaning paraphenalia (sp?) though - which I prefer to do anyway as I like 'my' products.

That's a really good price! Might give them a call :o) when cleaning do they use your cleaning products or bring their own? I always wonder if they use a rag to clean a kitchen that was used to clean the previous persons toilet :o( I now have a made in for 2 hours a week to iron - she gets through the following: 10 school shirts 5 DH's shirts approx 7 DH polo shirts 9 tshirts/tops for me few tops of DDs 4-5 pairs trousers/shorts 2 kingsize duvets and 6 pillow cases Costs me 60AED Listed like that I guess I could be doing it myself but I loathe ironing!!

I am just about to cut right back on my agency maid hours and negotiated with Dh to have her in for just 2 hours a week for the ironing. I really can't physically get through it and the threat that DH would have to start ironing his own clothes was enough for him to agree!

That needs to be done will it be cheaper to get a maid agency to come and do it or send it to an ironing place? Any suggestions? I loathe ironing :(
