EW Topic of the Day: How to get a job in Dubai
Expats mainly come to Dubai to work but sometimes things doesn't always work out as planned. You might have followed your spouse here and be struggling to find a job, or have recently been made redundant at your work recently.
The market is currently very saturated with candidates looking for work and each with a strong portfolio and track record. Due to this the candidate market is very competitive and makes it difficult to find a good job that pays well.
Some women have the luxury to be able to stay at home and not need to work, but for most expat couples it is very important to have a second salary to help pay for everything. When this is the case, not being able to find a job can often times lead to high stress levels, low self-worth with self-doubt creeping in and sometimes for their emotional and mental states being affected negatively.
What advice do you have for other ladies who are struggling to find a job in Dubai? How can they stay positive and is there something they can do in the meantime to help the generate income?
