Found this thread where someone mentioned having voile curtains custom made - hope this is useful. http://www.expatwoman.com/forum/messages.aspx?TopicID=93784 Have heard of Satwa but never been to Satwa. Would be nice to go as a little group. We arrived here just this past Christmas Eve, so we've lived in Dubai for only over 2 weeks! And we finally found a AR villa, after giving up on agents & drove around on our own. Have you all been here long? edited by Xue on 10/01/2011 Thanks but only want the fabric to make my own items and was hoping someone could recommend somewhere in particular to save going to a lot of shops. I guess it will have to be a walk round Satwa then, knowing me though I shall end up buying dress fabric instead of going to the upholstery shops as I cannot resist buying dress fabric. Satwa is good but if you are going to go then do so in the next few months before the weather heats up as it gets too hot to be outdoors. Enjoy. :)

quite a good selection of fabrics in Ikea, Festival City. Good luck ! Do they have voile, I know I saw nice colours in the UK but have not been to Ikea here in a while. :)

Try satwa - lots of fabric shops. Yes, I go for dress fabric but was hoping not to have to trawl around them all. :)
