hi all--

i'm getting ready to send my son to nursery next fall (2016) -- and we've started looking at nurseries-- i initially thought i was getting a head start-- but some nurseries are already putting parents on waitlist !!!(what on earth!??)

in any case-- i was reading something about feeder nurseries-- is there any real benefit to this? can any parents with children in feeder nurseries comment? theres disclaimers everywhere saying that it's not a guarantee of admission etc etc

we were looking at Victory Heights Primary, and their feeder nursery is Wonder years--

i had my heart set on another nursery elsewhere but it is not a feeder to VH (or to any school for that matter)

please advise. Thank you!

thanks! i'm exploring all my options school wise-- i've decided to go with the nursery that i absolutely loved for now, even though it's not a feeder nursery. i will take the school search with a grain of salt and explore all options and not limit myself. i appreciate everyone's help!

My DD is at Little Gems which is a feeder nursery to GEMS schools - they dont guarantee placement in 1 school, you give them your top choice of 3 schools and they will give your child a place in at least one of your top 3 schools. The assessments happen at the nursery which I think is great, instead of making kids go to the school. Edited to add: If you are interested in Kings Nad Al Sheba I dont think you need to worry about feeder nurseries, since they seem to have alot of availability from what I have heard,

thanks yummum. this is what i've been thinking too, especially with the headache of finding school places. Any ideas on if Kings have feeder nurseries? would be interested in Kings NAS - as it is closer to our house.

Feeder nurseries are good as long as they can guarantee that you will get a seat. As school will often look at sibling priority, and then any debentures, etc. And then feeder nurseries - I would be asking if I am definitely guaranteed a space?
