DH has Explorer, I have the Escape. Both really happy....when we arrived we had sports cars, but having a family changed that. We chose FORD because of the safely factor. Pillow airbags etc. No complaints what so ever. My Girlfriend has the EDGE with the TVs in the back for her DDs - she reckons it is the most comfortable car she has ever driven.

We've only had Fords so can't really comment on the Mitsubishi's. We love our Fords :-) One point though you might want to consider if buying new is that Ford offer great deals on servicing, 3 years FOC, 5 years warrently on all major parts & the first year insurance FOC. Won the deal in our book! Then again I'm not sure if Mitsubishi offer similar. Good luck with whatever you choose :-)

If you do some off roading, Mitsubishi Pajero will be the one to buy. Both cars have good reputation and parts and servicing are reasonable.

Can only go by personal experience, but for what it's worth, we have the Mitsubishi Pajero GLS and fantastic car, not one single problem, service centre here very quick and parts reasonable, a joy to own and a joy to drive... My friend on the other hand had a Ford Explorer and it was in the Garage more than it was out, hers was so bad she got rid of it last year and said would never make the same mistake again..... Like I say, different people have different experiences and it would be Mitsubishi for me everytime. Good Luck in whatever you choose...

I lveo my Edge, but I've also had a Mitsubishi. Bear in mind parts etc for the FORD will be more expensive.
