Thanks Pomegranate...I cant seem to get hold of the doc - each time i call he is busy...left many msgs..
I kept assuming it was a special milk and hence didnt even think it would be found in the regular milk...so i guess i will go again and read the labels.
lol - silly me :)
thanks for ur msg
LOL - you went to the supermarket and had no luck (with advice I presume).......nothing surprising there....
My understanding of fortified milk is just normal fresh milk with added vitamins, particularly Vit D, which most of the major milk brands do here as standard (just have a look at the label).
Otherwise, if you are really concerned to get this right, why don't you simply clarify with the Dr who suggested this?

ladies,
I had posted a thread earlier for my knee issue which you all had really assisted me with. I had a consultation with the doctor who has initially done a blood test - apparently im vitamin D deficient.
I drink 2 glasses of fresh milk (skimmed by Al Rawabi) daily without fail but apparently im still low on calcium and vit d...
He told me to try fortified milk and i have to go back for a knee scan in two weeks.
My questions are:
*where can i get a good fortified milk which is from a reliable well known brand?
*also i gather its not fresh milk so how does this affect us if we do not have it fresh?
*Can i get it in skimmed milk version?
thanks ladiesxxx
