Hi Ladies

A BIG ask: My lovely friends in Bahrain feel they need to have a game plan in case they have to leave Bahrain. The little girls are yet again missing out on school and their father is often working away so he'd like to have wife and daughters somewhere a little less turbulent. The closest place would be here so here are my questions...
1. Where are the French schools in the UAE located?
2. And, if someone has children at them, would there be space for one PS and one CE2?

We all hope this will not have to happen but with the school closed again and the 3 month emergency just announced things are not very hopeful.

Thx in anticipation
S

If they can"t be enrolled in French schools here in Dubai, they can try the courses by correspondence of CNED.

Ive asked DD what CE2 means, not sure what age group this is????The childrens garden in Green community DIP has french as a language as part of the curriculum but not the 1st language thou. I agree you will need resident visa's. CE2 is for 8-9 year olds, PS is for 3-4 year olds (like UK reception class). They are looking for a school where French is the first language though both girls speak good English as well as their mother tongue which is Flemish.

There is a precedent for this as a family evacuated from Libya just enrolled their kids in Wellington here. I'm sure the father didn't have a residence visa. Try the Lysee Georges Pompidou. www.lgp.ae

Not sure they would be able to get into a school here without residence visas. What she could do is ask the school to send work home to her over email or home school for this time. Alternatively if things get bad and she is worried to go to family in their home country. Thx for the heads up on residence visas SW. Will ensure I ask that question of the school(s) once I find out where they are. Their Bahrain school is providing some work via the internet but its not consistent or of good quality so my friend has had to become a teacher in addition to all her other skills, not what you expect when paying the fees! On your second point home is Bahrain for them. Both parents left Europe as 20 somethings many years ago, the girls know nothing else.
