I just saw this very angry post above and all I can say is that it has nothing to do with the Center that I know. I am a neurological patient at German Neuroscience Center for years (chronic condition). I also recommended it many times to friends and family. Everyone was extremely satisfied with different doctors. I just recently went back and saw Dr. Spelmeyer, who is absolutely fantastic. Very kind doctor. I never heard of an admin fee or something like described above, but maybe its because the post is very old (6yrs). I have Oman insurance and previously Daman. All treatments were fully covered.
So, from my side I can only highly recommend the center. Due to my condition, I had to visit a lot of neurologists and they absolutely the best...
I was in search of a neurologist in Dubai due to dizziness, pressure in my head, etc that noone else has been able to help with. Phoned this recommended centre, told them about insurance I have, was told they do direct billing with them, great or so I thought only to be told to cough up AED190 for administration charges on top of my deductible. Rather surprised I said isnt that what direct billing was for? To pay for all this...apparently not so. If you are a first time patient you are asked to pay this fee for: opening a file with them, and in case of ever requiring a medical report, the paper! Wow, I thought...AED190 for one piece of paper (which I am entitled to by the way as in Dubai as a patient you have the right to your reports, results, etc for free.).Not here, AED190, oh and for opening a file! Seriously? A file that I fill in in the form of a paper questionaire with my details. I have been to tons of private medical clinics (even worked in one) in Dubai but have nowhere come across such a ridiculous charge that I find incredibly unfair.
Im sure the centre has to make money and employ reputable doctors, etc but a consultation alone is very expensive, let alone additional tests should you need them and now they have the nerve to charge for 'opening a file'. Whats next? Water in the hallway? The urine pot?The needles?
Money making machinery at it's best I say...got a headache now, might just need to see that neurologist after all. lol
