Im on the hunt ( online) for good quality towels that will last years and look expensive. What is the difference between Turkish and Egyptian cotton towels? Which one is best?

one Bounce fabric softener sheet in the dryer helps too. I have purchased great towels from Pottery Barn -- try their PB Classic -- they are thick (820 gms) and remain in great condition washing after washing, even after 6 years of UAE water. I purchased them in the US, but they are available at the PB shops here. They come in solid colors only. I was looking at those towels and they look nice. :) all my towels have a hard feeling to them after being washed. Not plush at all but I also dont want to buy expensive ones that get ruined by Dubai water. try washing them with a capful of vinegar, it is a natural softener;)

Try the White Company, they do lovely towels that wash and last well. There's a store in the outlet mall now.

The best towels I have my mum bought for me from my home country, they don't seem to get old quickly.. All the rest of towels that I used to buy from here were not good at all, actually they won't dry the water on your body.. very wierd towels.. Though I bought once some towels from HOMES R US on sheikh zayed road and these were really good, a quiet similar to what I've got from back home.. Yeah don't waste too much money on towels :)

While living here I wouldn't waste money on expensive towels. The water for washing seems to ruin everything - I bought some lovely (expensive-ish) towels from my home and my Mom bought the same, my towels haven't got the same look or feel to them anymore as hers does. Just get some average ones and replace once a year or so. And believe it or not, some of the best towels I've purchased here in Dubai were from Max - about 35dhs for a very large bathsheet and the quality/absorbency is fabulous. edited by Pomegranate on 19/03/2011

Which one is best? http://www.gfsupplies.com/ I'm quite sure their deliveries would meet some key demands of yours (online, good quality), yet looking expensive is a tad a matter of taste. Also, I am uncertain as to their terms (conditions)... [i'>ETA[/i'> Was not able to add a direct link (and probably this thread already provided a satisfactory response to op's request), but to have a look at some good quality towels that weather the Dubai test, navigate to Linen-> Bath Linen-> Towels. We've been happy with our linen (both bed and bath) by this brand. edited by jophiel on 21/03/2011
