Did you ever try Salon Ink? Sharon is my hairdresser and has been for over 3 years. Although she has never done a perm on my hair she has done some bold colour and cuts. I can honestly say I have never in 3 year left there disappointed or trusted someone so completely with my hair. She won't do anything that won't suit you. If she thinks it won't look good she will gently steer you away from that idea and suggest something else. If you go there listen to her advice. I will say they are pricey but totally worth it. I believe they do free consultation so why not just go along and see what she says. Got an appointment for next week and can't wait!

I normally do a digital perm ... the results are fab. It looks like you took a curling iron to it with big, soft curls (not what is naturally considered curly hair). I wouldn't do it more than 1-2x in a year though... But since the results are much "softer" while it grows out, it doesn't look as awkward as traditional perms. I love it...I haven't done it in 2 years, but plan on doing it in the fall. I hope I can find someone here that does it...I know there is a Japanese salon, so I'm going to check there for sure. This sounds nice. Have you found a salon that does digital perms in Dubai?

hey....hm, I did not post any result because I was worried about the "I told you so"... frankly - total failure!!! :-( I went to Roots and the girl was just too careful. I explained several times that I wanted proper curls, not waves, not body, proper curly hair. But she was so concerned to do this that she did a soft perm. I looked a train-smash after. No curls, just wavy hair. I left and though it might get better over the next few days but....after 3 days I could almost brush it out! My hair was a left with some more body but not a single curl in sight!!! I understand she wanted to be careful but I had a clear instruction and even brought photos. So...I am off the whole idea now, needless to say! Although I do believe it was down to the hairdresser so maybe if you go for a recommened salon for perms...???

hi jess, how did the perm go? im thinking about getting it done but im sooo nervous - first time! how long was your hair and was it thick or thin? my hair is quite long (down my back) and has grown out of its layers. will they layer it if needed first? were you happy with your perm? thanks
