I would probably rather be ignored, a la UK, than stalked as happens here! Also, I refuse to believe that A) the majority of shops here have no stockroom (as claimed by staff when I ask for another size which is not on the floor), or B) these staff know every single item in the stockroom well enough to know, for absolute certain, that they don't have my size in 12 different items. Stalking is fine if they can actually help me, but generally when I ask something the response is always a negative one or they don't have an answer, so just leave me alone!!
Having said that, I was pleasantly surprised recently when a shop assistant phoned 3 other Dubai stores to find my size in a dress I wanted, without me even asking :)

Here we just get "Hi Maa'am Sir" and then the stalker follows you around the shop as you desperately try to shake them off, if you actually need any assistance they dont know the answer and usually offer you something completely different which is supposedly "same same"!!! :)
