I sincerely hope so. In the same situation now that life has taken on a different turn.

Funnily enough, I became a SAHM right after I set that up and honestly have not followed up! Pls do join if you like. I think I will just rename it mum's who need some entertainment and everyone is welcome. What do you think?

Oh sweetie, I do hope your DH is simply joking!
Not very nice to hear from one's DH that you are 'sooo unpopular' and 'don't have any social skills'!! I'm sure you do; after all, just chatting on EW is an indication that one can communicate!
Good that you're not dropping everyone though. Starting from scratch is not fun, but I've been there [!'>, but at the same time, venturing out of that circle could be the making of you. :)
So. Tell us about you. :D
oh no he's just joking because he is even more unpopular lol ...
about me hmmm what do you want to know? i am a SHM ...from pakistan ... turning 30 this year ... mother of 3 ..... like to read books, watch movies, spend time on EW dubai forum but have never been to any coffee morning though ....
Of course.
Did you ditch those who were making your life miserable? If so, yay, and don't worry: there are more good times [and friends'> to be had.
Good luck! x
havent exactly ditched them but yes stopped thinking about this one particular lady as a friend and now i feel really uneasy when i see her .... the rest of the group consists of some great people so its not that bad after all
But even if that were not the case ... i just know a handful of people in this city and DH also jokes all the time that i m soooo unpopular and that i dont have any social skills .... so this is basically a plan to prove it to him that i am one popular chick :D
OMG that is so me and the same situation. MISS UNPOPULAR and OUTSPOKEN is what i am called when i say the truth.
Same situation here, life has gone topsy turvy with the lil one in our life, not that i ever complain about it ... she is a joy to have but its just not the same. Cant make last minute plans anymore, hvnt gone for a movie since her birth which is 9mths.
Frankly friends are not friends anymore as they have older kids and are buzy with play dates of their own.
Miss having coffee with friends and just gossiping.
Sometimes one need ME time!
I think most of us find ourselves in the same place after having babies. The babyless friends have nothing in common with us.....and new moomy friends have very little time.

I hope its possible - my old set has proved themselves to be of the fairweather variety :(
But seriously: how to meet new people and make new friends?
you can email me if you would like to meet up or something ... derbend at hotmail
I have the same problem. ALL my friends have babies the same age as DD BUT they have maids!!
So they are free to get out and about at night and do things that don't involve kids but I can't join them. So now I have a "old lady" reputation and "get a maid" is something I hear a lot!
I DON'T want a maid OK??!!! ( felt good to get it off my chest..he he!)
Of course.

Oh I could use these tips! Since 90% of my friends left Dubai in the last 6 months. Luckily some of them are considering to come back cause they can't stand the taxes :)....
