I am having my daughters 5th birthday party at home (with five of her best girlfriends).... The theme is Barbie in a Mermaid Tale - hence I am looking for grass skirts, lei's, frangipani clips for hair and little bikini tops - all for a decent price. Has anybody seen these things about? I thought perhaps Dragonmart?
I work fulltime, so I don't really want to trawl the whole of Dubai looking for them, so any suggestions would be very welcomed....
Secondly, I am looking for a cheapish gazebo type thing - we have needed one for a while, so now is the perfect excuse to buy it (shade for the girls at the party)....
Any food/game suggestions would also be welcomed. I have some ideas and I am really excited - but I want to make it really fun for the girls, so all ideas would be great....
Thank you so much!

There is a party shop right opposite the Wellcare Hospital near the tennis stadium. I'm sure I remember seeing grass skirts type things in there a while back. They are well stocked and it's a huge shop.

Go to the party CEntre in Al Ghurair (am I right in the spelling)? They have all the material and themes you can think of. I remember seeing there everything you can think of for an hawaiin party including the skirts you are talking about. THere is also a party centre behing MOE in front of LULU, but much smaller, also another one in Motor City.

some lovely ideas here http://www.kids-birthday-party-guide.com/ariel-birthday-party.html how I envy you - I used to love organising my childrens parties but that was many moons ago - now I have all the time in the world and no small children to devote it to

We just had a party for our 6 year old and the game the girls loved the most was musical statues - so easy to do! Was great entertainment for us watching their dance moves too.

maybe daiso for the costumes? But havent been for a while, so, hopefully someone can say more definitively. For an inexpensive folding gazebo, C4 have them for 200dh. For a more permanent structure...geant have nice iron ones. Games, particularly for girls that age...include a quietish craft one, maybe making a princess crown? we just had a butterfly party and I made all the games...b/fly bingo, musical b/fly, pin wing on b/fly, b/fly pinata, b/fly target practice with water balloons, and still they like to do the colouring, sticking things. odd creatures, girls :) hth
