Thank you ladies - it sounds like I'd better front up a bit early and cross my fingers! I appreciate the feedback.

Took me 5 minutes with a 7:30am appointment, but no males were with me and they did have a long line.

it took me 5 mins to do my typing at a typing centre in abu and then had to drive to the id place and i walked straight in and that took 5 mins too. so if they are on time, then it doesnt take very long.

We did it a few days ago but at the Barshaa Centre. We we in at 8:30, out at 8:50 That's good to know - what did they actually do and how many were you may I ask? I'm wondering as there are 8 of us iwth the same appointment time - I'm wondering if I could just go first? edited by Alicia on 22/01/2011 We were three. We first went to the reception, where they took our papers and the passports, entered the data and gave each one of us a number. I guess you can present your papers first and ask them to give you the first appointment. Then we went to another room, and it was already my turn (female counters seemed less busy than the males ones). A lady there took my finger and palm prints and a photo of me, printed and gave me new papers, and told us they will contact us in 1.5 or 2 months time to pick up our ID cards.

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Let's hope its faster now - I mean, I assume all the paperwork side is done and that's why we've got the appointment time - albeit at the last minute......... Has anyone attended an appointment yet? edited by Alicia on 22/01/2011
