Life in Dubai means living in some comfort zone for those earning well, engrossesd in all the dizzy lights and fancy festivals and restaurants. But how many of you in your mid twenties or thirties say think about saving for retirement? How high is that on your priority list?Do you set aside a monthly figure every month, invest in some saving plan or live each day as it comes???

We are set up for retirement. I paid my way through University so did my DH. We have no plan set up for the kids, we'll help them a little but they'll have to save for it too, get some summer jobs ect. Hopefully they choose Europe or Canada, cause we won't be paying ridiculous fees like they have in the US.

We have a retirement fund back home that we pay into each month. And for the kids, the grandparents gave a lump sum which we have invested (hopefully wisely!!) for their education. These things were never taught to me as a kid by my parents, but my hubbies parents did and I think its important to plan for these future events so that when it comes along you don't scramble. It's probably not enough though given the rate of inflation, but I feel its at least better than nothing.
