Vero possumus, yes and the towels are now half the original size even though they go on a cold wash like it states. The bath mat is just as bad! I do think it is the water here too that doesn't help. I don't think it has anything to do with the water. C&B are a rip off, no doubt. I since bought a load of new duvets/covers from Jashanmals sale , all made in Spain and they are gloriously soft and comfortable. I also like Lacoste bed sheets.

I love the white company linen. I upgrade as and when it's needed, and also buy new bed linen when i see stuff i like that's on sale. I also have one towel that is over 25 years old, it's seen its best but it's so soft :)

All our towels and bedlinen are white and came with our housing package 6 years ago and are sadly still going strong. I bought a couple of nicer towels for the visitors and one set of sheets for us because I couldn't resist the palm tree borders......would love an excuse to buy more but what we have is going strong-perhaps not having a maid has its advantages!

Also rather then throwing out, cut up old towels and bed linen and they are great used as cleaning rags. I also made some octopus cat toys stuffed with cat nip from an old towel that had a hair dye stain on it!

I never throw old towels, bedlinen out. Like other posters, I have some towels that are very old, been passed down from granny etc and they are so soft, wash well etc. then I have Crate and Barre/ the Onel towels that are not that old and look terrible already...threads hanging off, very rough after being washed. Bedlinen I wait for the sales in the Uk and bring over.Funny you mention C & B, I bought some bed linen and duvets/covers from there and the linen never softened up, nobody wants it on their beds and the duvet is way to heavy and hot, even thought the salesman told me it was a Tog 3.....more like 30

I never throw old towels, bedlinen out. Like other posters, I have some towels that are very old, been passed down from granny etc and they are so soft, wash well etc. then I have Crate and Barre/ the Onel towels that are not that old and look terrible already...threads hanging off, very rough after being washed.
