How to write a wedding vow

Hi ladies, I'm not after the content of the vows but I'm seeking clarification of the process. Well, my fiance strongly feels that he writes my vow, and I write his. But I thought we each write our own vows. I mean I thought I'll be composing what I'll say to him at the altar, and he writes his promises to me. If I write down what I want him to vow to me aren't I being demanding? But he feels that's the way it is done. Help!

Oh the fun you could have writing each others vows! :)

I totally agree. You write *your own* not each other's. What a lovely thing to be doing! Difficult, yes, but wonderful.

Good luck-personal vows are so lovely-though my daughter and son-in-law had trouble holding back the tears during theirs!

Thanks Wuffles. I totally agree with you. And now that he has read your comments he has agreed to do it this way :-) Ha ha - now to the difficult bit I suppose.

My daughter wrote her own and my son in law his-thought that was the usual way to do it-it would hardly be heartfelt if you wrote each other's vows
