We had HSBC premier cards for last 3 years. Just found out we are entitled to airmiles. Went to their branch and asked how we can claim it. They asked us to call up airmiles. Airmiles said we didn't register. So, I am totally confused. HSBC told us as long as we show Airmiles our HSBC card, it should be enough.
Did anyone here claim airmiles from HSBC card? If so, how did you do it? Please please help me out.

SM I did see your :-) I was just agreeing about being a best customer, my DH goes mad about the cost in spinneys until I buy a free flight or something then he calms down just a little. lol. Honestly I have no idea if it gives more points or not, maybe when you get the card the booklet will tell you, now that would be a real haha. lol

Ha ha - so many people on the phone to Air Miles. This is what he said: The gold card is just the same as the blue one except it is for HSBC Premier customers. He didn't say anything about getting extra miles but he mentioned a 10 % discount in places? Why do they not automatically send out? He doesn't know...You have to wait about 14 days to get it! @ BNBH, did you not see the ;) after my comment about being a "good customer" ???? :-P

I dont think the airmiles card gets upgraded to gold, Is there some confusion with skywards???? the blue airmiles is a completely different card. edited by salsB on 12/03/2011 I also have the Airmiles Gold card so I can confirm that it definitely does get upgraded. Other than being a Premier account holder I don't know what the qualifying criteria is but one of the perks of it is that you earn 1.5 airmiles per dirham spent instead of the usual 1. We must be pretty good customers too as we've just had two 64gb iPads from it!

Honest I am not stupid! I promise you I have a gold airmiles card and sadly only a blue skywards card. I can tell the difference. If anybody wants to see it just to believe I am more than happy to show them. And yes I have an HSBC premier card and yes SM I am one of their best customers also. edited by BNBH on 12/03/2011

Def a gold card, with the Airmiles ME logo on replacing the old blue one. Def NOT an airline card. We have had more than a million miles at times but I do spend them on extra flights via the Airmiles office and various other stuff. I am not a believer in letting them accumulate too much as you never know when something maybe withdrawn. I do use the card at every opportunity and in conjunction with my HSBC card which then gives doubel points. We pay everything (school fees included) by credit card and clear the bill in full every month without fail.

I have never heard of such a thing as a gold Airmiles card - of the kind we are talking about, anyway. Think there is confusion here with other "airmiles"cards eg airline ones? I had nearly a million air miles recently and have never heard of the gold one .

We got our card automatically, but I must use mine so often that the airmiles card has been upgraded to gold! We have used airmiles for loads of things including flights, a kitchen aid (love it), lots of smaller things like books of cinema tickets, go-kart tickets etc. Happy collecting.

The airmiles cards should have come through automatically - our have always done that! (As we opened new accounts they sent more so have them stashed away and called Air Miles to ask them to link all the cards together to one account ). If I were you I would be pushing HSBC strongly to be credited with the airmiles that you would have got in the 3 years. Someone cocked up and it wasn't you! Same here. The airmiles cards came automatically. (Only time we had to register with airmiles directly was when we wanted to access our airmiles account online.)

well i already had an airmiles card. After which i got the hsbc card. so when i paid with my hsbc card and gave my airmiles card, it somehow got conjoined and now i get airmiles while using the hsbs card. the best thing is, all the hsbs cards in my family, ie, my dad's, moms, brothers and mine's are all linked to my airmiles... so when any of them use it, i get the airmiles!!! mwahahahah! Got a funky camera lens with all that airmiles! :)

You need to call your HSBC Premier relationship manager (if you don't know, just call the HSBC Premier no. and speak to someone there) and they will put a call into Airmiles so you are registered. Once that is done you can book your flight. You should also be carrying a blue Airmiles card with your Airmiles membership number on it? Cuz if you show that in certain shops like Spinneys or Tavola, then you get extra miles on top! To get the blue card, you need to call Airmiles and register for one.
