After I've been to the abattoir, where can I find *swivel-hooked* cheap clothes hangers? Husbad refused to let me bring all the ones I'd bought in Migros on the grounds I'd find clothes hangars here. Well, I can find them here, but they are not the right ones for me :)
BTW, anyone want to rent an apartment in Geneva for a couple of years? No, I thought not. Just giving it a go..

Apologies, this is a bump for Tartiflette :) Also to add, I happened to be in the Green Community Choithram's this afternoon and found some cheap luridly coloured plastic swivel-hooked clothes hangers there, so I'm a happy bunny.

Tartiflette, is your daughter at the IIL? The flat has been being advertised in the InkBlot (or whatever the English side newsletter is called nowadays) since the beginning of the year, with no reaction. (My daughter was in the French section till she left for the College in Aug 2009 and I was active in the APEIIL. I wonder if we know each other by our real names!) Anyhow, I would be grateful if you think you know someone who might be interested, my email address is: simpleasanniebc at gmail dot com. Also, if I can help at all when you come out, please let me know on same email addy. I know nothing about DESS, but am an expert at getting lost and happy to pass this kind of information on!

You're kidding! That's 2 minutes from my DD's school in Lancy! I know at least 2 expat families who might be interested. I could put them in touch with you-- I haven't figured out how to send a private message on here (e.g. to share contact info)-- not sure of the rules on that. School=DESS. I think that is a good result as we really wanted a non-profit school-- hoping to come out next week for a quick visit to at least get started on house search... Although it appears that it won't be a pleasant commute no matter where we live! :( 170ish sq metres, 1st floor, 3 beds, no garden, large terrace, in Plan-les-Ouates (5 mins from France, 10 mins from airport) nobody ex-pat wants to live there as too far from centre, we daren't risk renting it to locals as they would be allowed to stay for ever and we will be back in 2.5 yrs. Which school? edited by simpleasabc on 15/03/2011

BTW, anyone want to rent an apartment in Geneva for a couple of years? No, I thought not. Just giving it a go.. Hi there, how big is the apartment and where is it? I know some people who are looking... Anyway there is such a housing shortage-- I can't imagine it would be difficult to rent? PS: We got a school place for the summer term! I can't believe it! I will have to start a new thread for more advice... 170ish sq metres, 1st floor, 3 beds, no garden, large terrace, in Plan-les-Ouates (5 mins from France, 10 mins from airport) nobody ex-pat wants to live there as too far from centre, we daren't risk renting it to locals as they would be allowed to stay for ever and we will be back in 2.5 yrs. Thanks, MB, but I hate wire hangers with a passion (somehow, we have brought dozens of those over with us, of course) and think their use should be confined to opening wine-bottles when there is no corkscrew available.. Sue, I do like my goat well hung.. LOL, SW, will try Ace and Crate & Barrel, thanks. CT, thanks, I think I looked in Ikea but the hooks didn't move. Sandy Dogg, I couldn't find any when I last looked in Lakeland. Question is, whether I can persuade husbad to buy some when he next goes to Basel. I doubt it.

where can I find *swivel-hooked* cheap clothes hangers? I saw some at Ikea in Australia but I have not ventured to the one in Festival City so it may be worth a phone call. I am also pretty sure that I saw some at the British home shop at Mirdif City Centre last last year but I cannot remember the name of the store. It had all sorts of gadgets and plastic things. Does someone know where I mean?

Try asking at the butchers, Ace or Crate and Barrel. Or use some string/coat hanger. I take it the fly dressing is an added element to this to enhance flavour?
