Passing this on for JJ.

JJ was born in South Africa on 01/04/2003 and brought to Dubai when he was 5 months old. He is a Pedigree Labrador, the son of a highly successful show dog.
JJ is a very easy going, lovable dog, but be also needs a lot of love and attention in return. He is very well mannered, will never be found messing in the house, jumping on furniture etc etc. He absolutely loves swimming and will do so at every opportunity. Although he is 8 years old he has a lot of energy and loves playing with other dogs. He currently attends the dog daycare at Paws Pet Planet and is big hit with all the staff and other dogs of all sizes. He eats Pedigree, we try and feed him once a day only (he gains weight quite quickly). He is in good health; we have used Jumeirah Veterinary Clinic over the past few years to take care of his health.
He comes from a good home, his owner (my son Cameron) has gone off to university and we have moved to an apartment making it impossible for us to keep him. We are looking for a good home for JJ, someone who will love him and take good care of him. He needs a decent sized garden, ideally a swimming pool, and needs to be walked twice a day.
If you would like to give JJ a loving home please contact Michael on 0506576276 or email [email protected]

So if Cameron boy falls out of university we will also need to find a place for him? Well, we have a Lab...it breaks her heart just to look at us going to work in the morning! she lick us from head to toe when we get home! How can ANYONE just turn their back and move on to enjoy their lives?!?! I hope these people will be haunted by the memory of JJ until the end of their life. ps: we live in an apartment on the Palm with the Lab and we (with hired maid) walk her 4-5 times a day...in fact Palm is one of the best place for dogs in Dubai and she is the happiest creature on Earth!

very sad as this dog will not want to leave his family :(.....sounds like they cant be bothered anymore :(..hope he finds a wonderful family. And a note. There are so many apts going cheaply and are large and..accept dogs, why did they not go with one of them???? I think they are living in an apartment on 'the palm'... perhaps one of those with no dogs allowed? They had a choice of where to live though. JJ has no such choice. :( Good on you sniffy for trying to help this dog out...so sad.

Poor JJ. Can he not stay with you in the apartment? As long as he gets a good walk daily then he'll adapt especially if he is as good as you say he is... please have a think :) JJ is not sniffy's dog! She is just passing the message. I might be wrong, but JJ is already in a foster home as far as I remember..:( Thanks Alya, yes JJ is not my dog, a friend came across his plight and spoke to the owners. I know, its a horrible to give up a family member after 8 years!! I am sure they had options, he is an older dog, hence not as hyper active as a younger dog, and would do fine in an apartment, i do not know them personally, so from here, i think just they arent bothered!! Hey feel free to write to the owner's email addy on the original post. tell him what u think of him. I am disgusted myself! edited by sniffy on 27/01/2011

Presumably it was anticipated that Michael may go away to university or the likes when JJ was purchased in 2003? I think trying to palm him off somewhere else now is irresponsible. Dogs are not just for Christmas or, in this case, until your child leaves home... :\:

Poor JJ. Why have these people moved to an apartment when they have the lifetime responsibility of a gorgeous animal? 8 yrs with one family and now, as a pensioner dog, he's expected to settle with someone else. Really! Unlike my recent comments regarding judgements on B&B's, I find it relatively easy to be judgemental when people are utterly irresponsible with their defenseless animals. :( Good luck JJ!
