Re-enrollment? Why do you have to re-enroll if you havent given notice of leaving? I think the schools are trying to avoid been left on the ledge by those who suddenly leave just before term begins, lots of expats here and peoples circumstances change almost overnight.

Raffles has just sent out an email, stating although the KDHA was allowing the re-enrollment deposit, because of feedback from some parents they are not going to asking for it this year, and will be refunding those who have already paid it...interesting..... <em>edited by Mrs Laughan on 09/04/2011</em>

The latest culprit is Uptown Primary school in mirdiff. Asking aed 2000 instead of aed 500 and telling parents, they can charge what they like and they have given permission by khda. They give us only 1 week's notice i.e reply by 14th apr or lose ur place !!! We've heard this before pay now or lose place. They certainly have lost place with parents with poor response to uptown high school which is being closed. Schools here think they r above everyone else. They seem to enjoy the power they have/given to them. I for sure will not re-register, there r better schools around. Its such a shame that come mar/apr parents are put under this torture every year in someway or the other.

Spoke to Repton yesterday and was told that KHDA is allowing the re-registration fee but the refund period has to be extended. Not sure until when.

The registrar was telling parents that last Monday there was to be a meeting and then a letter to parents with a verdict, nothing has come so suspect something will appear on the last day of term, seems to be normal protocol.

Hi school can ask only for re-registration up to 500 dhs. no fee payment can be requested now, 1st term fee has to be paid at beginning of academic year
