Does anyone have any tips on how to stop knuckle cracking? I drive myself insane so no idea how people around me must feel. I need to stop but I don't know I'm doing it!!

I think I will do. I've always wanted to stop doing both things, I only really thought about paths of hypnotherapy or something like that. I never thought that seeing a Dr might bring about something else I could try as I never really thought about it as a problem, more of just an annoying habit. If nothing comes from seeing a doctor, then ask the doctor about alternatives to break the habit. Good luck to you.

Take a look at this: http://www.wikihow.com/Stop-Cracking-Your-Knuckles Hmm I think I have a nervous disorder as I'm always fiddling withmy hair and pulling strands out that feel "weird". Wonder whats causing this. I cant say i'm a stressed or anxious type person at all..... Pulling strands of hair out?? You don't have to be stressed or anxious to have a nervous disorder. I think you should make an appointment with a doctor to discuss it. I've never really thought about how strange it is, until I just saw it written down, it's something I've always done. I dont do it till i'm bald, just pull at the odd strand.....but I guess it is a bit bizarre. I'll mention it next time I have an appt. If you don't have an appointment coming up, make an appointment. This behavior could be due to a health issue (nothing serious, maybe an imbalance or your body may be lacking something). You may forget to mention it by the time you have to see the doctor. edited by Crystil on 19/04/2011

Wonder whats causing this. I cant say i'm a stressed or anxious type person at all..... Strands that feel weird, can be an infected hair root, I suffer from them - when you pull the hair out, the root is thick and white with a black tip. I get clusters around head spots, very annoying, but you have to yank them out. But if you're constantly pulling your hair out, that's not right. The ones that feel weird are like really rough textured, like, I can't explain, they feel bumpy. They do have a thick root on them too. That could be what they are. I don't pull it out all the time, I just twiddle with my hair a lot and if I feel one of these weird ones then I get rid. I think I might read into this a bit further....

I have to put my hands over my ears and hum when I see people cracking their knuckles - don't know why, but it makes me feel really queasy! I tell them they'll end up with arthritic fingers like claws if they carry on - lol!
