Land Tortoise -buy or not to buy?
Hello Ladies,
I'm considering to buy a local land Tortoise as my 2 year old baby keeps asking for it because she loves animals. We already have a cat who's with us for 5 years but she doesn't like to play with kids.
I have the following questions and would reall appreciate advice from people who have experience with keeping Tortoise in the flat.
1. If bought at the store, should they come with any medical certificate?
2. Are they safe and clean for small kids to play with? I'm referring to health issues (worms, upper respiratory diseases some reptiles are very prone to and pass on to humans, etc.)
3. If I buy one, where do I need to get it checked by a vet and if you know a vet specialized in reptiles?
4. Food and maintenance. If you can share some tips.
5. Is it kids friendly and doesn't bite hard given I have a 2 year old.
6. If i create a suitable environment in my flat and take it outside for walks daily, is it fine or they have to be kept outdoor only?
