I have also renewed my visa, think they have always asked for it. Dh works in the port in sharjah, although it's not a freezone maybe it's different. Anyways, hopefuly disaster averted as this guy says it's no probem.

BB2 Thanks. DHs company was insisting on having it. They refused to do it without. I have a private pro doing it and he says there is no problem. I know i could do it myself but after I've been stressing already I just dont want to!!! Dh will have words with his PRO I am sure!!! i have renewed my visa like 4 times and never have i had to show my marriage certificate as its a renewal. if you were switching from dubai to abu dhabi or freezone etc then perhaps as it would be a new visa but a renewal never.

No worries with my DH, still in his job, we are still married, they just wont process without the certificate. if u are renewing you dont need to show your certificate again.

tried the on file.... No luck. Busybee i dont think thats the issue, my visa is expiring, so I cant pay a deposit to lengthen it. No worries with my DH, still in his job, we are still married, they just wont process without the certificate. This happened to us as well. :( We've had to transfer our residency visas from freezone Dubai to govt AD and have had to start from the very beginning. And of course, our attested marriage cert' could not be found for love nor money! We ended up getting a UK firm which specialises in this kind of thing to do a quick-turnaround job for us [took about 10 days all told'>. We did have to send them a marriage cert but they did all the work and couriered it back to us. Job done. :) ETA: If you would like details, let me know. I know this is useless but I'll post out of desperation. My spousal visa is up for renewal and we cant find our marriage certificate. Going to have to cancel my visa starting tmw :( What a pain in the proverbial. why are you cancelling, i know in abu dhabi you can pay 5k deposit so that your visa is not cancelled and is left open if your sponsor changes jobs etc.
