Does anyone do this? We don't want someone to live in with us but I would like one to come full time for around 2,000dhs per month, is this a possibilty?

This website says you can either have a live in or live out full time maid. http://www.desertspeak.com/viewtopic.php?t=2494 I have cut and pasted a section from the site: 2. FULL TIME MAIDS • Select your maids: Schedule interviews in our office with several maids/nannies. Select your favorite! • No hassle: Your maid/nanny is on our visa, and we’ll always be responsible for her. Probably best to google more sites. There were threads about this a while ago with some good info. • All the staff we hire are personally known by the recruiting manager and run through interviews and thorough background checks, in addition to full medical exam. • Undergo extensive training on proper cleaning techniques. • Live In or Live out: Your Full time maid can live in your home, or in company accommodation. • Full time pricing: 3950 AED per month if your maid/nanny lives with you. • An additional fee of 500 AED per month if you would like us to provide her with company housing and transportation. • Guarantee: If you are not satisfied, we will replace your maid/nanny at anytime, for no additional charge. If you have any questions or would like to schedule service, please: Call +9714 3394151

I think no is the short answer, not at that price anyway. This is around what you'd expect to pay for full time live in help under your own sponsorship. The sums don't add up if you're expecting someone else to be responsible for those costs and make a profit. You could talk to agencies about a discounted rate for a full time maid but it will cost a great deal more than if you sponsor someone yourself (somewhere around 4000 AED I would imagine). I'm not certain that it's legal but I think the closest you'll come to the arrangement you're talking about is by using an agency like Explorer. They will sponsor a maid and be responsible for all associated costs on your behalf for a monthly fee of around 2,500 AED (though there is an upfront admin fee too and a deposit) but the family is expected to provide accommodation. However, the proportion of this amount that is paid to the girls as salary is very small and the agency somehow circumnavigate other basic entitlements for maids as they don't even provide holiday and flights home each year. So, basically if you wanted to be an ethical employer it would cost a good deal more each month in supplements. Lots of people sponsor a maid on a live out basis.
