Yes, Khalid bin al Waleed is right outside the Burjuman Centre. When I've had visitors, we've metro-ed there and always taken a taxi from there to the Old Souk/Textile Souk and Museum bit, rather than waiting for the bus, then walked down to Heritage Village and the old Sheikh's house, retraced our steps and had lunch at Beit al Wakheel on the waterfront right next to Bur Dubai abra station, hopped on a 1dhs abra across to the Gold Souk and Spice Souk on the Deira side, then taxi-ed or bussed back up to Union station to go home. Or you could taxi/bus back up to Deira City Centre if you wanted to end up at the movies or a mall, but to be honest every time I've done it I'm too stuffed to face the prospect of a mall (note to self: must go back to the gym...) It's a good day out and while youre in Bur Dubai have a look in the clothes shops one block back - the stuff on the ground floor is all a bit cheapie, but upstairs is Fakes Heaven! I never bother with the taxi-it isn't far to walk-especially when the weather is nice and cool

Dubaistar, I would definitely join you in the tour.... love visiting Sheikh Saeed's House (Heritage Village) which shows some very interesting old photographs of early Dubai before discovery of oil, and of its people.

Just a heads-up if you're going on a Friday - the museum doesn't open till 2.30. Other days it opens at 10.30 but might pay to check with them.

Morning Got a visitor over next week who loves all things "trainy", so aiming to spend a fair amount of time on The Metro. Have used it quite alot myself but I'm only really familiar with the New Dubai area and know that he will love the Old Town. Couple of questions if anyone can help me out: Is Khalid Bin Al Waleed station the same as what people call Burjaman(sp) where the Burjaman Centre is in Bur Dubai? and: Which station would it be best to get off at to go to The Creek (Where all the abras and "watch" souks are and Dubai museum) and is it walkable? Would really appreciate any advice. Thanks
