Thank you so much ladies... :)
We've just got our PR and have to enter Oz within a certain time frame to get the passports stamped and get done with the other formalities.. :) :) :)
It really is much of a muchness.
I try to stay away from ATMs though as bank rates are significantly higher than over the counter conversions where you can sometimes negotiate a rate.
Good point CT. It had slipped my head that we were in fact withdrawing from an Aussie bank account therefore exchange rates weren't relevant, and so my comment was probably not that helpful for CW. I must be having an blonde day!
Would you prefer doing it here in Dubai or in Oz???
Where do you get a better value??\
TIA
Here, last time I went (Jan last year) the rates here were 3.4 and when I was in oz it was 3.7-3.8 and on xe it was still 3.35-3.4 so they were much higher in oz.

We normally access that according the the current rate but generally speaking take some with us and then from ATM's in Australia as needed. Just nte that you are not allowed to take more than AU$10,000 or the equivelant thereof into Australia without declaring it.
Planning a holiday ChiggyWiggy? ;)
