We are desperate to find our black and tan, female Chihuahua, Pixie. She was being walked in the large desert-y area where villa construction began about 18 months ago, between Al Wasl Road and Road 10a, in Um Suqiem. Emirates International School is at one end and Star International School at the other.

We do not live around that location, but the take the dogs for walks there, so she does not know her way around that area. Someone else's large dog frightened her on the late afternoon / evening of Friday 14th January and she took off running. After extensive searching, ringing on door bells and talking to workmen, security guards, and passers-by, we believe that she went running along the road (10a) which runs parrallel to Al Wasl Road and is no longer in the desert patch. We have done all the usual things - phoned K9, been to the vets, and are in process of organising posters / flyers. I will attach pictures of her to this message when I can figure out how.

Pixie is about 4 years old, neutered, microchipped, but unfortunately not wearing her collar when she ran away. She is the most loving and affectionate little dog and easily frightened. She gets cold quickly and we are so worried that this will be her second night out. If you live around this area or walk your own dogs around here, PLEASE keep an eye out for her. A generous reward is offered to anyone who can help us find her. If you have any information, please call: 050 4560853. Thanks.

You're welcome. I have been thinking about Pixie and hoping to hear that she is safe at home with you. We too have a black and tan Chihuahua " Sophia Lola Tequila Fajita Frampton" and although she is not the easiest dog we would be demented if she was missing. Another one of our dogs went walkabouts a few years ago and it took 5 days to get her back, the reward did the trick. I hope you get peace of mind soon x

I have just bumped up the thread on the main forum as it had dropped down a few pages.

Hi Purple Panther You should work on the posters ASAP and distribute them on all clinics in Jumeirah and Al Wasl. There are many vet clinics in that area, so drive your car slowly on the right side of all roads in Jumeirah and Wasl and stop by each of the clinics, they all have boards where you can keep your poster and you can give them the microchip number so if someone brought the dog to their clinic, they will call you even if the microchip is not registered. Also place the poster in Spinneys and Choitram in Al Wasl. Once you finish from Jumeirah and Wasl area, it will be also good to put the poster at the clinics in Barsha or other areas, who knows.. maybe someone found the dog in wasl area but he or she deals with a vet in a different location so it will be good if you take the posters to all the clinics. Good luck and I hope that you find Pixie soon!
