Hey ladies,

I want to do a Musandam dhow day trip, and after reading about both locations decided that Khasab would be better because there is a higher likelihood of dolphin sighting... however I always see groupons for Dibba and not for Khasab. Are both locations similar enough to make it worth getting the groupon for Dibba instead of paying full price at Khasab? TIA!

Thanks ladies! my experience at Dibba was a good one, have seen a whale and whales sharks but this is with overnight dhow trips when the sail more up north.

I visited both Dibba and Khasab as well. I love Khasab if i compared to dibba side. It is a popular destination for dhow day trips, particularly for dolphin watching. The likelihood of dolphin sightings in Khasab is relatively higher compared to Dibba, making it an excellent choice for dolphin enthusiasts. I always get good deal from Groupon.ae to Khasab by Khasab Beach Tours (Highly recommended)

Thanks ladies! I've decided against getting a groupon for Dibba (250/person) so I'll be going to Khasab instead... want to see wild dolphins :D I've found Arabia Horizon Tours that do full day on the dhow including food and transport back and forth from Dubai (don't have a car). They're charging 500 per person; does anybody have experience/recommendations for them or another company doing a similar trip? TIA once again

Hi, I would suggest khasab as i have been to both khasab and mussandam and the drive is much nicer to khasab and the scenery and also you get to see dolphin's where in dibba side you wont get to see that and its more of sailing. We got a fantastic rate for the full day cruise in khasab and i didnt go through khasab tours i went through a different company as i was reffered and it was excellent food provided aswell. where khasab tours dont provide as much and no food. We paid 300 per person and we also had a private dhow to ourself and not sharing. they gave us this price as we were 10 people edited by jojo24 on 05/03/2012

Dibba Oman is similar scenery as Khasab, also fjords but no dolphins! Although I have seen a whale and whales sharks but this is with overnight dhow trips when the sail more up north.

Thanks ladies, it seems I may have to just pay full price for a Khasab tour as no point in going on the Dibba one for half price yet wishing the whole time I'd done Khasab! Dolphins and beautiful scenery is what I am looking for.

khasab is different to dibba, khasab is more fljord like you can go on dhow trips whereby dibba is like good for beach and snorkelling snoopy rock etc. Fjords! that was the word I was looking for and they are very beautiful and a different, dramatic type of scenery. I suppose there is more chance of seeing dolphins as the water is more encompassed by mountains. I hear that it is extremely rare NOT to see a dolphin at Kassab but not always possible at Dibba.

Never been to Dibba but went to Kassab last year and it was a fantastic day and we saw loads of dolphins. It's also great for swimming as the water is very bouyant. You can float without flapping your arms or legs (if you wish to, that is).
