Hoping you can help.

I have just been told that in order to work here I need to get my educational certificates verified (although that wasn't the word they used. it was something beginning with A???) Can anybody shed any light on this?

Thanks

Cherry Blossom, it sounds as if Chocs0's suggestion of using Index here is better and cheaper than mine, who are much more costly. I've dug out their name, though, just in case you decide to use them: www dot jetsomexpress dot com, email: info@jetsomexpress dot com, tel no on their site This is Index's web site (I googled it): http://www.indexdubai.com/indexdocumentclearing.html Good luck! edited by simpleasabc on 22/03/2011

I used a company called Index - brilliant, just give them all the documentation, costs a couple of hundred dirhams and they do it all for you and quickly too. They even get the signature required here as we ll as in the UK.

Hi, It was all very quick to be honest, you can do some of the payment scheme on line with them. It was with the FCO at Milton Keynes and then we sent them off to the UAE Embassy in London. I did have some help with relatives to send the document off to London, but again the whole process was really under two weeks, for both of them to attest them. Nippy Did you not have to get them notarised by a solicitor first? I was told that unless I used an agency, I would have had to go to a solicitor myself so that they could attest that I was the same person who had received the certificate. I don't think the hassle was because I was living in Switzerland at the time, although it didn't help. Maybe things have changed since we did it?

Attested. For the UK, you need the certificates to be notarised by a solicitor on the Foreign & Commonwealth Office's list of acceptable notaries, then an Apostille from the Foreign & Commonwealth Office in Milton Keynes and finally, a stamp from the UAE Embassy in London. If you are here already, you can get it done, at a cost, by an agency in London who will sort it all out for you. I can give you a name, if you'd like, can't remember off hand but they were quick and efficient, though expensive. Otherwise, if you have time, you can go back and do it yourself :)

Hi... I think it's attested. My DH had the same issue with his work, we had to send his back to the UK to get them done. Nippy
