If you're happy with a pizza, and want a fabulous view, then go to the Westin hotel and dine at Bussola (the pizzeria upstairs, not the fine dining restaurant downstairs). Lovely authentic pizza's, very reasonable and a fab setting. Need to book.

Hi, Fairfield - I can definitely let you have at least one Cobone voucher, but I'm going to have to check whether our Greek friends are definitely coming over at the end of April or not (Greek economy going down the pan, all except the ones in government jobs are worried about losing their jobs) to see whether we need to hang on to the others. If you email me on simpleasanniebc at gmail dot com, I should be able to get back to you by the end of the day. Husbad not too keen on making the phone-call in case we find out another Greek friend has been fired..

Hi again, Sorry to butt in, but Simpleasabc, I'd be very interested in taking a couple of those Al Hambra vouchers off your hands if you are keen to sell. We have visitors arriving this week and one of them has just been made redundant, so I'm looking at all cost cutting ops. Freckles1, we went to the Pullman hotel for drinks the other night, which was lovely and then had dinner at PF Changs at the MOE. Not an expensive night, but still felt like we'd been out and not just at the mall. FFx

Hey Freckles :) Chef's house Radisson Blu Media City has themed evening buffets. I think it's 189 dhs including beer wine and a good selection of spirits too. Food good, should be something to suit both of your tastes, and drinks flowing. Also you could check out West 14 on the Palm, they do buy one main course and get one free. HTH

Or Wagamama in JBR (licensed). Most main coarses are around 50 Dhs, drinks reasonable priced.

I take it you will be eating your meal and then complaining that it was the wrong meat and asking for a full refund? Of course posting a thread on EW as well. lol ;) And taking photos of the food for her facebook page. Hehe! ;)

Channels in Media Rotana Tecom area. Great value 179 with beer and wine or 199 with beer, wine and spirits different themes every night, but they also have some food that would cater for those that don't like the nights theme.

All fab suggestions but need something new dubai end as don't want to be too far from babysitter. I love curry and chinese but mr Freckles likes Italian / bistro etc. Tapas is a good idea if I can just find somewhere relatively cheap. Hundreds of bloomin' restaurants in Dubai and I can't find one!

Do you like curry? Al Nawab in Jumeirah Plaza is very nice and good value. Do you like Japanese/sushi? Bentoya on SZR near to Dusit (behind Skechers block I think) is also very good value and delicious. I reckon anyway. ETA: no alcohol in either of these. edited by laughing_sid on 28/03/2011

What about somewhere is Satwa? Ravis or Sidra then along to Rydges's Plaza for a few drinks...I know that's seperating the food and the drinking, but would be a good night. In fact, you might see myself and Mr Suze, it sounds so good!

We went to the Al Hambra the other evening with Cobone vouchers. Except we forgot them, so didn't get to use them. The deal is 250mls Sangria and 6 tapas for AED95, and honestly, that's really ample for 1 person. Two could possibly get away with sharing, if you ordered another drink and maybe a main course or dessert. If you're interested, you're very welcome to buy one or two of the vouchers, they're valid till end of May (I went mad and have two more tucked away somewhere!). We sat on the terrace watching the lights change on the Burj Al Arab and there were fireworks in our honour (!). It was a really lovely evening. But then, I love the Madinat, even though it's the epitome of Disneyland in the Desert! thanks for the offer but am not a huge fan of sangria. great idea though!

I didn't bother with the Entertainer this year as I thought it was ridiculously expensive and each year we end up with most of the book untouched apart from the kiddy stuff. there must be somewhere cheap and cheerful in dubai

What about one of the Rotana hotel restaurants, Channels, Flavours, etc. Most of them have 'all inclusive' restaurants and vouchers in the Entertainer.

We went to Al Hambra the refurb'ed Spanish restaurant at the Al Qasr for dinner recently and it was really lovely and not hugely expensive. I'd recommend it.
